DIANA S. NYE October 10, 1942 - May 10, 2019 ELKHART- Diana S. Nye, 76, of Elkhart, passed away Friday May 10, 2019 at the home of her son. She was born October 10, 1942 in Elkhart to William & Donaldine (Penrod) Owen, Sr. On December 22, 1963 in Elkhart she married Lee Edwin Nye. He preceded her in death on November 11, 1994 in Elkhart. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Boyles, her parents, 2 sisters, Nadine & Earl Gordon, June Brouse and her brother, William & Doris Owen, Jr. Surviving is her son, David Lee Nye of Elkhart; her daughter-in-law, Carrie Chadwick of Michigan City, IN; a son-in-law, Jim Boyles of Elkhart; 6 grandchildren, Katie (Troy) Harper, Leslie Boyles, Andrew (Lexi Phillips) Boyles, Rachel Boyles, Desiree Nye and Alexis Nye. Also surviving are 2 great-grandchildren, Lucy Diane Harper and Molly Sue Harper; 4 step grandchildren, Valesca Wood of Colon, MI, Dakota Wood of South Bend, IN, Emily Chadwick, Nathan Chadwick both of Michigan City, IN; her sister, Sandy (L. Dean) Grabill of Goshen, 15 nieces and 3 nephews. Diana graduated in 1962 from Elkhart High School. She loved spending time with her family especially her loving grandchildren, she also enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. Diana was a long time member of the Grace Lutheran Church, a member of the Elkhart Optimist Club and was also a precinct committee woman. Diana retired as a bank teller at Chase Bank in Elkhart. Funeral services for Diana will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday May 16, 2019 at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Pastor Jo-Ellyn Chadwick from LaPorte, IN will preside and burial will follow in Adamsville Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10:30 a.m. till 12:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Heart to Heart Hospice of Mishawaka, 620 W.
