Carlos K. "Crazy Carl" Overmyer July 5, 1947 - March 21, 2018 ELKHART- Carlos K. "Crazy Carl" Overmyer, 70, of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday March 21, 2018 at his home. He was born July 5, 1947 in Elkhart to Russell Kenneth & Denelda (Walmer) Overmyer. On October 21, 1972 in Elkhart he married Pamela Marie Wilkinson. She survives along with 3 children, Kenny Overmyer of Plymouth, Todd (Kim) Overmyer, Melissa (Bruce) Brown both of Elkhart; 6 grandchildren, Audrey Overmyer, Brittany Kelley, Courtaney Overmyer, Todd Overmyer, Jr., Benjamin Brown, Lillian Brown; a brother, George (Rosetta) Owen of Osceola and a nephew, Richard (Wanda) Overmyer of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Kathleen Herrald and Carolyn Shenefield. "Crazy Carl" as he was known graduated in 1966 from Elkhart High School. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War from 1966 - 1968 and was honorably discharged. He enjoyed listening to country music, fishing, hunting, tinkering, going to the New Paris Speedway and spending time with his family. "Crazy Carl" worked for over 25 years at the Elkhart Foundry as a maintenance man and also worked for Himco as a welder. Visitation will be on Sunday March 25, 2018 from 1-4 p.m. at the Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home where funeral services will follow the visitation. Pastor Justin Goodman will preside and cremation will follow. Burial will be private at a later date in Rice Cemetery where the Elkhart DAV and the US Army Honor Guard will render full military honors. Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with his care.
