Barbara J. Trolz

ELKHART- Barbara J. Trolz, 88, of Elkhart, went home to be with the Lord on Monday September 11, 2017. She had suffered with COPD for the past 3 years. Barbara was born January 2, 1929 in Jackson Michigan to Lexa & Myra Smith. On July 25, 1964 in Jackson, Michigan she married Jerry Trolz. He survives along with a son, James (Marlene) Mack of Rockford, MI; grandchildren, Steve Mack of Savannah, GA, Linda LaForce of Hilton Head, NC. Jenny Mack of The Villages, FL, great-grandchildren, Michael Mack and Allison Mack both of Savannah, GA, Alex Deregnaucourt and Mason Deregnaucourt both of The Villages, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dale Smith. Barbara was a great mother and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never met a stranger and she would strike up a conversation with anyone. She never had a bad word to say about anyone. She was known for her neatness and decorating skills. People would refer to her as a great lady. She attended the First United Methodist Church and was co-owner with her husband Jerry of Bent Oak Golf Course. Visitation for family and friends will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday September 15, 2017 at the funeral home. Vince Turner will preside and burial will follow in Prairie Street Cemetery.
