BALTAZAR LOPEZ TAPIA January 6, 1919 - June 23, 2019 ELKHART- Baltazar Lopez Tapia, 100, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday June 23, 2019 at his home. He was born January 6, 1919 in Curimeo, Michoacan, Mexico to Jose Lopez and Longina Tapia. He is survived by 20 children; 96 grandchildren; 160 great-grandchildren; 20 great great grandchildren and 2 brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son and 1 grandchild. Baltazar worked for most of his life as a farmer and he was dearly loved by his family. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday June 26, 2019 at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Additional visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday in the Vincent Hall at St. Vincent Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday June 27, 2019 at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. Fr. Matthew Coonan will preside and burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the family to help defray expenses.
