Arnold Willis Obituary

Arnold L. Willis, 68, of Elkhart, passed away Thursday May 2, 2019 at the Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart. He was born April 22, 1951 in Elkhart to Arthur Lee & Mary Ann (Keech) Willis. Surviving are 2 children, Eric (Terri) Willis South Bend, Tara Willis of Elkhart; 1 brother, Kenneth (Noreen) Willis of Arcadia, IN; his former wife, Terri Christophel of Three Rivers; a sister-in-law, Carol Willis of Littleton, Co; 1 niece and 4 nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Arthur Lee Willis II and a nephew. Arnold graduated from Concord High School in 1969 and attended Ivy Tech. He was a 25 year member of the Concord Fire Department, was a member of the Granger Community Church where he ran the cameras and volunteered as a member of Carpenters Hands at the church. He also enjoyed golfing, was a High School Soccer Referee and was a slow pitch softball umpire. Arnold was a fork lifter driver and worked for Robert Weed Plywood for over 35 years. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday May 8, 2019 at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be from 12-1 p.m. Thursday May 9, 2019 at the Granger Community Church-Elkhart Campus where a celebration of life service will take place at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Ted Bryant presiding. Following the celebration of life service the Concord Fire Department will have a special presentation. Memorial contributions may be given to the Elkhart Hospice House.
