Anne C. Raven

Anne C. Raven, 54, passed away August 30, 2017 at her home in South Bend. She was born February 1, 1963 in Elkhart to the late Lamar & Arnetta (Nesius) Huneryager. She was also preceded in death by her brother Bill Huneryager. On November 30, 1996 she married John Raven; he survives along with 3 children, Laurel Raven, Denise Raven, and Heather Raven. Also surviving are 2 siblings, Scott (Sheila) Chapman, Larry Huneryager, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 3, 2017 from 3-6 p.m. with services beginning at 6 p.m. at Unity Church of Peace in South Bend. A time of fellowship and sharing of food will held immediately follow the service at the church. Anyone is welcome to bring any vittles they would like only if it gives you Joy to do so. Cremation will follow and burial will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 12 noon at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart. Anne was a born and raised farm girl at heart and loved many animals including goats and sheep that she would enter into 4-H contests. Due to her simple upbringing she was raised to enjoy the simple things in life such as gardening, sewing and canning many fruits and vegetables that she cultivated and picked on her own land. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, reading, comic books, star wars and star trek. She was a member of Unity Church of Peace in which she joined a knitting and crocheting club. Anne was a very frugal person but was always willing to waiver on that for her children's needs. She will be remembered as a devoted friend that had a very optimistic demeanor, which helped her keep her faith and sense of humor until the end.
