Ann B. Ganyard, 88, passed away peacefully during the early morning hours on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at the Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart, Indiana. Ann was born in Chicago, IL to Sterling and Evelyn (Bretnall) Bradley on July 10, 1930. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Barbara (Rodney) Coverdale (Cleveland, OH); husband, Corless W. Ganyard; and son, Robert S. Ganyard. Surviving are: daughter, Diane Hostetler Lindsey (Paducah, KY); son, John (Cristi) Ganyard (Elkhart, IN).; grandchildren, Heather (Tripp) Ganyard Robbins (Leesburg, VA), Erica (Ian) Ganyard Bernadas (New Orleans, LA), Megan (Mike) Hostetler Johnson (Granger, IN), Cameron (Danielle) Hostetler (South Bend, IN), Adam (Dan) Ganyard (New York, NY), Joseph Ganyard (Chicago, IL), and Lucas Ganyard (Elkhart, IN); four great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. Ann was a graduate of Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, OH, where she met her future husband Corless. Married for 65 years, Ann and Corless moved to northern Indiana in the late 1950s, residing first in South Bend before moving to Elkhart in 1972. Ann was involved in a number of community organizations, she worked as a teacher and supervisor for Head Start, and managed the bridal department for Carson Pirie Scott. Ann and Corless were members of the United Methodist Church, teaching much of their lives with an expressed love and commitment for working with children of elementary age. Ann loved family and friends and nothing brought more enjoyment than hosting bridge parties with close friends or playing games with family. Having family around and laughing together was always Ann's greatest joy. She was full of life and fun, and her laughter was contagious. Ann was dearly loved and will be missed by family and friends. Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, located at 700 East Jackson Blvd., Elkhart, has been entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the 1:00 p.m. service time on Monday, April 22, 2019. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
