MARIA GUADALUPE CAZARES-ARELLANO

December 11, 1974 – March 9, 2024

ELKHART- Maria Guadalupe Cazares-Arellano 49, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully Saturday March 9, 2024, at her home in Elkhart surrounded by her loving family.  She was born December 11, 1974, in Yurecuaro, Mexico to Ruben Cazares and Juana Arellano.

     Her parents survive along with her sisters and brothers Yolanda, Gloria, Nancy, Licho, Luis and Efrain.  She left behind her lifetime partner Raymundo Serrato and her children Christian, Jacqueline, Karen, and Raymundo Serrato, Jr.

     Maria was a parishioner of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church.  She enjoyed working, dancing, music, the outdoors, cooking, laughing, and enjoying time with her family members and friends.  Maria was a devoted mother and grandmother.  She always made the best out of anything she had.  She was a strong independent, hard-working person and overall, such a lovely person that everyone enjoyed spending time with her.  She was a problem solver and always tried to make everyone happy including herself.  She has left this earth but will be deeply missed by her friends and family and all who knew her.  She will always be loved and missed dearly.

     Visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. on Friday March 15, 2024, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 700 E. Jackson Blvd., Elkhart, IN.   The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1405 N. Main Street, Elkhart, IN on Saturday March 16, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. (Noon).  The family will receive friends at the church for 2 hours prior to the start of the Mass.  Fr. Eloy Jimenez from St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church will render the Mass and burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart.
