Wanda Marchant

Wanda Marchant 88, of Edwardsburg was called to her Eternal reward on Tuesday morning, April 18, 2017 after a 2 year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Wanda was born in Dexter, MO to John and Hazel (Brown) Sitton November 14, 1928 and lived in Dexter until she met and married Cecil Marchant. They were married October 23, 1948 and moved to Indiana in 1950. Wanda was not defined by the jobs she had or the places she worked. She was defined by the Godly woman that she was. Her unwavering faith as a Christian was the core of her being. As a pastor's wife, she dedicated most of her life as a helpmate to Cecil and the Church. Her children and grandchildren were her priority. Her gentle, compassionate spirit was obvious to all who knew her. Wanda is survived by her husband of 68 years; their son Roy (Jackie) Marchant in Elkhart; their daughter Janet (Karl) King in Edwardsburg; grandsons Steve Riley in Elkhart, Jon (Brandi) Marchant in Goshen, and Derek Corrigan in Elkhart; six great-grandchildren; Alex (Shelby) Riley, Beth Riley, Jenelle Marchant, Brandon Marchant, Alison Marchant, and Nicholas Marchant and one great-great grandson Nolan Riley. Wanda is also survived by her blended family; two grandchildren Amy (Mike) Higley and Chad (Kerry) King both of Edwardsburg and great-grandchildren Amanda (Tyler) Schmitt, Michael Higley, Austin King and Kaylor King all in Edwardsburg. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, and son Wade Marchant, a grandson Bryan Marchant and three sisters. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Elkhart where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday.
