Joan R. Shoff

ELKHART - Joan R. Shoff 91, of Elkhart passed away peacefully on December 13th, 2017 at the Greenleaf Assisted Living Center. Joan was born on October 25, 1926 in Elkhart to Chester and Opal Lickey. Joan was preceded in death by her husband Russell T. Shoff. Joan is survived by her daughter Diane Haskins Graffis and two sons Tom & Randy Shoff. Joan is also survived by two Grandchildren Bernie Haskins and Lindsey Shoff. Joan had a long working career, she first started out working for her father at Hossick Bakery and then she worked at GTE as a telephone operator, Joan then attended the University of Wisconsin. When Joan returned to Elkhart she worked in the offices of Miles Laboratory from there Joan moved to the Trust Department at First National Bank. Joan then went to work for Double Check Tax Service where she spent 26 years. In 1991 Joan went to work in the offices of Shoff Security Systems until the spring of 2016. Joan belonged to the Women of the Moose; she was a Life Time Member of the DAV. Joan loved to go morel mushroom hunting and enjoyed fishing. On almost a daily basis she would visit Martin's or Kroger's grocery stores and for many years she enjoyed cooking dinner for her grandson Bernie. Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with Joan's arrangements.
