Janet Sue Sayre

Elkhart-Janet Sayre, 74, passed away May 31, 2018 at her home in Elkhart. She was born February 10, 1944 in Warsaw, IN to Luther & Ethel (Miller) LeCount. On December 30, 1960 she married Steven K. Sayre; he preceded her in death on August 28, 1966. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister: Beverly Weimer Surviving are 2 children, Teresa Mahaffa, Carey (Jenne) Sayre, 4 grandchildren, Britany Mahaffa, Brendan (Courtney) Mahaffa, Madison Sayre and Truman Sayre. Also surviving are 2 great-grandchildren, Mayah Petty-Mahaffa, Forrest Sayre and 1 sister, Jacqueline LeCount. Janet loved her dog and spending time with her friends and family. She enjoyed traveling and went to such places as Europe, Amsterdam and New Orleans. She also likes listening to Jazz music, Jimmy Hendricks and Ray Charles. Visitation for Janet will be held 1 hour prior to the 2 p.m. celebration of life service Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
