Helen Wernicke Obituary

ELKHART-Helen Wernicke passed into the Lord's hands on Monday, March 19, 2018. She was born October 2, 1928 in Elkhart, Indiana the daughter of Grover and Gladys Klein. She was married to James R. Wernicke on February 22, 1948. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Helen worked with her husband in James Wernicke Service until they both retired in 1989. Helen was a devout Christian and member of the Jamestown United Methodist Church, Jimtown, Indiana. She is survived by her husband James Wernicke, sister Norma Eash of Indianapolis, Indiana, brother Roger Klein of Ravenna, Ohio, sons Steven Wernicke (Barb) of Wheaton, Illinois and Douglas Wernicke (Michelle) of The Villages, Florida, grandchildren Chad Wernicke (Silvia) of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Marci Plahutnik (Tom) of Midland, Michigan, Evelyn Roderich (Eric) of Henderson, Nevada and Andrew Wernicke of North Aurora, Illinois. She is also survived by six great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Jamestown United Methodist Church with funeral services starting at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Steve Loft will preside and burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Jamestown United Methodist Church.
