BREMEN - Eric Jon Paul "E-Rich" Faux was called home to heaven in the early morning hours of March 25th at Memorial Hospital of South Bend due to injuries sustained in a single-vehicle accident near the intersection of Kern and Beech in southern Saint Joseph County. Born March 11, 1985 in Elkhart, the only son of Jon M. and Lori J. (Albert) Faux, he spent his entire childhood in the same house next door to his maternal grandparents, Earl and Norma Albert. In addition to his parents, he leaves behind to cherish his memory a sister, Jennifer B. Faux of Goodyear, AZ; 4 uncles, James (Judy) Faux of Fishers, Jerry (Amy) Faux of Jones, MI, Jeffrey (Maria) Faux of Elkhart, and Samuel (Betty) Treesh of Wyatt; 3 aunts, Nancy (Les) Koval of Arlington, TX, JoEllen (William) Smith of Red Rock, AZ, and Judith Dawson of Fremont. He was preceded in death by 2 aunts; Janice Klaus and Patricia Pih. In 2008, Eric became the pet parent of his faithful collie, Turner who was nearly always at his side and now resides with Eric's parents in Elkhart. Eric attended Mary Feeser Elementary and Redeemer Community Christian School where he was selected Student of the Year by the faculty in his final year. He completed his education in homeschool while earning school credit for Auto Mechanics at Pierre Moran Marathon under the supervision of Accelerators, Inc. Owner Todd Hines. A friend to all and a stranger to none, E-Rich - as he was known to many - lived most of his adult life in the Bremen area, choosing to build bridges rather than walls in his interaction with others. He was known by his motto: Live Simply. His life revolved around working with his hands, building, fixing, restoring, and tinkering with his many tractors, trucks, and cars. Vocationally, he was a dedicated, hard worker in building trades, concrete finishing, and most recently a second stint at Digger Specialties in Bremen. Many of his employers gladly rehired him due to his strong work ethic and willingness to follow the instructions of Jesus to go the extra mile. Scores of friends have reported to the Fauxes that they had adopted Eric into their family as a brother and son. They described him as a giver, not a taker, who often swapped and bartered to acquire things for others ahead of his own desires. His friendship was always on call 24/7 to the very end as he cut short some well-needed sleep to spend what would be the last few hours of his life in response to a call from a friend in need. As in life, he will be a giver in death due to his recent decision to be an organ donor. Family and friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m., Friday, 31-Mar-2017 in Elkhart at The Garden Inn (formerly Ramada) and 11 a.m. Saturday prior to a celebration of life ceremony at noon at The Garden Inn. All friends and family are invited to bring a dish to share at a carry-in dinner at The Garden Inn immediately following the ceremony to continue the celebration of Eric's life. In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe.com page has been established for Eric Faux to help defray funeral expenses. Cremation has taken place with graveside services and benefit Hog Roast to be scheduled at a later date. Walley Mills Zimmerman Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
