Charles Weed Obituary

Charles L. Weed, 83, of Elkhart, passed away Thursday April 20, 2017 at Sprenger Health Care in Mishawaka, Indiana. He was born February 9, 1934 in Erie, PA to Ivan E. & Edna I. (Joss) Weed. On February 14, 1998 in Elkhart he married Betty Maxine (Smoot) Beaver. She survived along with three sons, David Weed of North Edwards, CA, Steve Weed of Moon Township, PA, Scott (Tammy) Weed of Elkhart, IN; three daughters, Cynthia (Ron) Martinsson of Santa Clarita, CA, Terri (Pete) Diffley of Henderson, NV, Diane Weed of Saugus, CA and an adopted daughter, Donna Kott of Bristol, IN. Also surviving are four step sons, Brian Beaver of Elkhart, IN, Bradley (Charlene) Beaver of Zionsville, IN, Brett (Kelly) Beaver of Muncie, IN, Aaron (Jodi) Beaver of Elkhart, IN; a step daughter, Andrea (Keith) Hanes of Elkhart, IN; fourteen grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and two brothers, Kenneth Weed of Erie, PA and Ron (Mary) Vanatta of Antwerp, OH. He was preceded in death by his father, Ivan Weed, his mother, Edna Weed and his step father, Raymond Vanatta and a brother, Robert Weed. Charles was a member of the New Song Community Church in Union, MI , a member of the Elkhart Moose Lodge #599 and a member of the Harley Owners Group (HOG). Charles worked for Sacks Electric Supply in Akron, OH from 1955 till 1968 and for Robert Weed Plywood Corp. from 1968 until his retirement in 2006. In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation or services and cremation will take place. Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with his care.
